HP AiO software install Problem

I am having trouble with an AiO HP C5180 printer when trying to install the hp software which is needed to use the scanner. The OS involved here is a Vista 64bit and a Win7 64bit.

 

When the installation gets about half was through, it displays an error:

 

C:\program files (x86)\HP\digital imaging\bin\HPCLPSVC64.dll failed to register.... something to do with msi.netdevicemanager40

 

Has anyone come across this and found a solution to it. No matter if i use the CD or the exe from the internet, the software will not install. It seems that others are having the same problem but no one has come up with a solution.
