Hi - our Windows Start Menu redirection suddenly seems to appear as 'open windows on the desktop' as well as in the Start Menu everytime a student logs on. Our redirection policy has

everyone's folder redirected same location

\\serverxx\mprofile$\start menu

Grant Exclusive rights to Start Menu - Disabled

Move contents of Start Menu to the new location - Disabled

Also apply redirection policy to provious windows - Enabled

Policy removal behaviour - restore contents

Many thanks in advance

The Students have an OU which controls startmenu redirection- and this morning when a student logs on it opens each branch of the start menu in a seperate explorer window so there effectivly 20 or so open windows on the students desktop!

Yes students use mandatory roaming profiles - the only change has been testing some windows 7 pc's to see if they would access the redirected start menu. We then created an OU for one win7 machine to logon but have removed it.

Yes it does happen to every PC.

Hmm. That's very odd.

There's no autorun.inf files or anything like that hidden in the start menu structure is there? (Just thinking out loud now, as it were...)
