Video Editing Software for Primary School

Im currently working on a project with some year six children trying to get them to use some video editing software we have been using Windows Movie Maker, whilst this is simply to use its very unstable and keeps crashing.

 

Can anybody recomend any alternatives.

Movie Masher is free and should be easy to deploy as it's web-bsed - install it on a local server and access it through a web browser:

Serif's video editing application is good, and includes a special effects package. They do a good price for schools and they always used to give out free copies to teachers/technicains for evaluation if you're thinking of buying a site license. Phone their sales department and ask.

That seems to be a solution for creating a specific type of videos, not a general video editing package. It does look handy, though - I know someone who might find that software very useful, I'll point them towards it.

 

Just so you know, your obe-tag.com domain gets catagorised as "advertising" by our web filter, you might find it's seen as ads by other schools, too. easysketchpro.education seems to be okay, though.

 

As we've resurrected this rather old thread anyway, I'd just add that we've recently installed Corel's image and video editing suite site-wide - it seems like good value for money as you get a vector editing application (CorelDraw) as well as a video editing package. I see Vimeo are advertising their "Pro" accounts a a fair bit these days, I don't know if that includes any editing facilities.
