Sheridan Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 We've got some Macs here with the citrix client 11.2 trying to connect to a XenApp server through Smoothwall. Login works fine, but trying to run any apps gets the error: SSL Error 4: proxy authentication failed. Unsupported proxy authentication scheme Error number 183 I can't find much on Citrix about this, apart from NTLM authentication is not supported in earlier versions of the client (NTLM is what our Smoothwall box uses!) I've tried setting 'no authentication' on the Smoothwall side for this site, but it hasn't made a difference. Does the Mac Citrix client simply not support this scenario?
tom_newton Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Don't know off top of my head - before we go down any more tricky routes just make sure you have done a no-auth for everything it tries to access.. and also remember that as "no auth" you won't have the same privs, so you might have to put the site in an allow list too.
Sheridan Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 Hmm I've just checked an internal (Local authority) XenApp site and I get the same error - for this site (as its effectively local) we bypass Smoothwall entirely, so it appears the issue is with the Citrix client instead. Works fine on PCs but not Macs!
