Hey people just a quick question i brought a netbook from a car boot sale and it has got windows ce installed however on boot up it is asking for a password was brand new still got the pakaging on the box does it come with a default password??? also does any one known some free software to reset the password

Can you do a factory re-image?

 

That way you should get to choose the password yourself.

Don't have the cd with the laptop

They don't always require a CD, in fact most don't these days - it's a key press during the BIOS / POST screen.

 

Could be worth a check.

Nope not windows ce it does give you any options at all

does anyone know software that tells you the password on boot up?

No, but you can reset it with a little linux utility - chntpw.

It's included in quite a few distro's by default, can't remember offhand but google will tell you.

Find one, get unetbootin to create a bootable flashdrive, away you go ...
