slow network performance between physical and virtual.

Hi I am getting slow networking between my physical machine and a virtual machine?

I copied the file to another of our virtual machines and this was instant. The only thing i can see what is diffrent is the network adaptor card. The one which is quick is a flexible adaptor and the other is not giving me the option to change this?

 

Any ideas?

What hypervisor are you running your VMs on along with what is the Client OS, have you got whatever intergration services installed and is this a new problem?

its on vmware vsphere 4.0.0 Server 2008 R2 and windows 7. Yes this is when we upgraded vmware.

Try this

 

Make sure VMware tools installed

Shutdown the Windows 2008 server and change the network NIC to VMXNET3 in virtual machine settings.

 

Still no joy! then Check vSwitch configuration and speed of NIC's, full duplex etc....
