mtillbrook Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Samsung ML-3050 This is a really strange one! This printer will print any documents quite happily but, when you try and print labels to it it refuses. As soon as the printer receives the file, the red light comes on and nothing else happens. You need to switch the thing off and then back on again before anythign else will happen. When I say labels, all it is is a word document formatted to print labels so nothing complicated at all. Its really weird. Any thoughts?
hakko Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Check default settings on the printer? Something should be set to auto but isn't? margins?
hakko Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Steady red light = • A paper jam has occurred. To solve the problem, see page 9.1. • The front cover is open. Close the front cover. • There is no paper in the tray. Load paper in the tray. • The toner cartridge installed is not a genuine cartridge, and you selected Stop at the NonGenuine Toner prompt. See page 9.7. • The lifespan of the toner cartridge is reached, and you selected Stop at the Toner Exhausted prompt. See page 9.7. • The printer has Wrong tray? http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200910/20091031101300640/English.pdf
tommej Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Gonna wager this is something to do with paper type/margins as hakko has said.
elsiegee40 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I've had someething similar when a letter size label template was used instead of an A4 one by mistake.
