Hi guys - not strictly a windows problem - but can anyone point me to a site that gives some (fairly) up to date figures for Microsoft's market shares in the desktop and server fields - I've got to do a presentation and I'm b*ggered if I can find them anywhere? I've gone cross eyed looking with slim results. The desktop figure seems to be MS 93%, Mac 5%, others a bit. But the server figures seem really hard to get. Any (speedy) help appreciated.

Yes, most estimates for Windows on the desktop put it at 90% or better. Your pretty safe with that one. At least for a couple of years.

As for servers, it depends. What sort of servers are you interested in?

I'm interested in the MS/Novell/Linux/Others type split for small to medium stuff - not mainframes and the like

Ok, doing what though? webserving? email? file and print? something else?

All of them really - I can see that Linux has the upper hand in webserving - but I've no real idea about the others
