contink Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I have plans for the future of my side-line in printer related, land-fill/cost saving enterprise but the logo and colour scheme is, erm... well, it would be nice if colour was a component to be honest. So, I humbly throw myself at the mercy of the graphics gods/goofs/gophers? and ask for your help in coming up with something that fits the bill for both print and web presences.. The current site and logo is here but beyond wanting to keep the web layout about the same I am wiiiiide open to suggestions. The name is OctoInkjet but I'm debating just shortening it to OctoInk too... Colour has never been my strong point so I'm also open to recommendations of good colour blends for re-doing the sites CSS styling... Rewards/payment... Well I'm happy to pay a reasonable rate, provide a link in my FAQ for the question "Who did your logo?" and/or make a donation to comic relief, red cross, your beer fund, etc... as required...
SYNACK Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Here is an imagery suggestion, how about styleizing the Oc at the start so that the c is almost closed up and the whole thing looks like an infinity symbol given the nature of the products you offer. 1

contink Posted February 4, 2011 Author Posted February 4, 2011 Why octoink and not contink? allthough octoink looks a bit like october oink (oct oink) Mainly because I got away from Continuous Ink systems after various aborted attempts to create designs that didn't suffer from leaking issue or require a 5 figure investment to get started (and copied for peanuts). It's also one of the most supplier heavy markets out there with every tom, gemma and davina coining it at minimal margins with narry a clue. The waste kit side of things was something that really took off though and despite some really poor competitors doing the usual scrape and re-sell routine with my resources I've built up a good communication and customer service rep'. Everything else like refilling, etc.. has come about from my willingness to apply my knowledge of communicating at the lowest common denominator (see all that working in schools has helped! ) and take that to other levels. ... but we're getting off track... I'll have a play with Synacks idea myself when I've got my tablet back out of its dusty draw... I have a pretty good idea of where this could go...

I'm just wondering if there's a somewhat more streamlined font for the rest of the text? I'll get to playing with this once my sons tonsillitis settles down... Fun 48 hours it's been!
