Name resolution issue

This issue cropped up because symantec AV wouldn't remotely update the definitions on a laptop.

 

Essentially i can ping the laptops IP address but not it's name.

nslookup returns:

*** %server%.%domain%.internal can't find %machine-name%: non-existent domain

 

We recently had some extra vlans installed for a couple of new wireless SSIDs and new DHCP scopes and DNS zones setup to match.

 

There are no PTR records in the new DNS zones at all, even though i have configured a dozen or so laptops to a new SSID/vlan

 

Can anyone advise??
