Printer Properties > Advanced tab > enable advanced printing features This has worked for me in the past with especially large images - also selecting start printing immediately (same tab) ------- I do have to admit Printers are salt in the wound at this place, if it's not crap drivers it's users sending 9000 (not a typo) page jobs to printers and not bothering to cancel them! Anyway, I do hope you get your problem sorted Little-Miss... We wouldn't want to be seeing you unhappy now would we 1
Little-Miss Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Ok, guy came in and fitted a gig of memory into the printer. I printed the offending pictures and it worked. Well, It was 3 pages long and forgot id set duplex as default so cue me looking puzzled at only 2 pages coming out but then finding the 3rd page worth on the back of 2nd page. So i went and tried to print the 3 pages individually, 2 pages arrived but the 3rd vanished off into the ether somewhere with the printer saying it was still processing. There has been some improvement as the job isnt getting stuck in the printer queue anymore, the computer is satisfied that its done its bit, its just this elusive last page! Any clues as to where the last page went? lol

contink Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I've seen the exact same problem with HP L7780 and K5400's and I'm still not 100% past the point of guaranteed success but here's what helped reduce the incidence of this problem. I shifted the printer shares off the AD servers and put them onto a VMWare virtual 2k3 tasked only to provide printer server support. Asked staff to reduce the number of pages they used per job Suggested staff reduce the resolution on their cameras to around 1mpixel In the end what I found worked the best was to enforce a reduced graphics file size using this: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/scripts/59761-image-convertor-plus-image-backup-reduce-batch-file.html It costs to get the software for this one but it not only resolved a large number of the problems I saw with graphics heavy print jobs but also reduced the disk space overhead that was threatening to overwhelm the system. 1
andyturpie Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Yep we have the same issue with Kyocera 5200dn printers. Sometimes they keep coming out with a page with an error code on it. Deffo lack of RAM issue i'm afraid.
contink Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Forgot to mention... the trial version of the Image Converter + software puts a whopping great watermark over everything so make sure you test on a small subset of files FIRST, then get the license, test AGAIN, before backing up properly and letting the full version loose. I'd hate to end up with a watermarked set of replacements with the originals all gone otherwise!

In order to print out photo's and graphics to our printers you will need a printer driver that is capable of doing so. If you have a KX driver installed, then this will struggle to print graphics. In order to stop the long processing times, you will need a KPDL or a Classic PCL driver. Both of these are available to download free of charge from our webpage. 1

Trying to find the drivers and have so far loaded up 3 different websites each linked from the previous kyocera site.. On a side note, using one of the new iPads I've bought for our school to post this and the keyboard really is quite nice to type on.. Lol..
