2097 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Has any one else recently noticed some of there computers needing reactivating ? not sure if it is a new update maybe ? Mine are all OEM .. None indicate they require activating and are actually working fine . Only reason i noticed because i wanted to go into safe mode and it said it required activating .. so i run the activation program and it did require it ! there is no baloon messages stating i require activation ?
mrwoberts Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Had this problem on an OEM XP pro desktop, turned out to be errors on the HDD. You could try the CHKDSK /R option, or your favourite HDD tool to check for bad blocks. Someone also suggested to me that it could be malware, but in my case it wasn't. K
