You just include the licence file in the install folder.

I think you need to run the app as an administrator once to pick up the file from the install directory, after that it should run as a student

We just had this issue on a number of machines; it shows students as unlicensed, but worked fine after the program was run as an admin.

Sorry i didn't explain that too well. If you logon as an admin or staff member, you can install the license file, however it doesn't work when logged on as a student account, it asks for the file again then comes up with an error.

 

I will put the license file in the root 2d design folder and try again tomorrow.

Thank-you. We placed the license file in the root 2d design folder and its still not working for student accounts.

I've got the license file in the same folder as the msi that I use to install from.

Their install doc's say

 

2. The three files you will need to roll out are:

 

2D Design V2.msi, which is located on the Program CD in the directory “New Installation”

2ddes.ini, which is located on the Program CD in the directory “New Installation”.

2ddes.lic, which is located on the Licence CD (or floppy disk).

 

(N.B. 2ddes.ini and 2ddes.lic are “loosely” packed within the msi file.)

 

That's all I've done and it works for all users.

Morning all,

 

Heres a screen shot of the files on our file server, msi is deployed via GPO, its still asking for the license file location when logged on as a user.

 

 

Any ideas?

We have sorted it Thank-you. If you extract the files of the MSI to a folder and place the license file in there, it works fine so we will do that as part of our new image then just hide the folder and show a shortcut. Bit of a work around but i dont mind that, cheers!

Yes installing to a shared folder or manually putting the files on a computer does also work.
