BlackBerry has Enterprise Server to manage the phones. Does Windows Mobile have a similar application to manage the phones and etc? Have costing implications? Anything else relevant, much appreciated. Cheers.

you can manage android phones remotely for enterprise as well now.

Are you talking within activesync or with something else? I know Android 2.2 is provisionable but 2.1 isn't, which has caused a bit of upset here as I'm now only allowing provisionable devices..... if there's something else, and it's free, it may help me out!

I believe it only works with 2.2. you could always upgrade your phones to 2.2. You could flash exsting phones to upgrade them. if you were going to swap out to windows mobile you could just swap out to phones running android 2.2 instead. although seeing windows phone series 7 series phone windows seems to be failing to set the world alight you might find you could get a good deal on them.
