stuartp44 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Is it just me or is the whole grid down apart from cleo side, i know they where doing minor maintainace on the 27th but not pulling everything down. Anyone shed any light on this?
AWicher Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 It's not just you, been trying for days to access school network from home but no luck. Early guesses are DNS problems, BT oops, sorry Westfield might not even know about it. But that’s a nice gift from farther Christmas! Not all bad news! Email seems to be effected to, so no complaining from teachers have reached me yet
secretlife Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Yes- I heard on twitter it was LCC that had air con problems and they had to shut down some servers- I do hope they switch it all back on again tomorrow - no more bank holidays so no more excuses
poltawski Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Hi, Latest we've heard from LCC is that there have been serious air conditioning problems at Preston County Hall and a number of servers had to be powered down to control the temperature. This problem is currently affecting schools DNS causing CLEO services like Moodle to be unavailable when using school domain names. If you know how to manipulate a hosts file a 'bodge' way of gaining access to your moodle in the meantime is to setup an entry to 194.66.222.132. Dan Poltawski LUNS 3
