itgeek Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Hi we currently deploy sophos from the console. We need to upgrade sophos, so I was going to move it to a new server and redeploy to the client machines. How do I remove the old version that will point to the old server/ ip address? Should I have a server just dedicated for av? What other roles do people run there av on? Thanks
TechSupp Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Just done the removal and upgrade (on the same server) a few times here. well three different schools. Just protected the PC's from the console and I think that will do the trick, as well as a belt and braces method of doing a forced install via a startup batch file at logon (batch file from the forum) which I think will uninstall the old version and install the new one with your new settings. Have a look at the recent thread on Sophos by me on the Security forum on here.
plumtech Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Your clients should automatically comply with the new server setting when the server detects them.
