elsiegee40 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Ah, but is feels good to see the Aussies losing their cool (Not intended as insult to our many Ausie geeks, just to the cricketers!)
torledo Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 surely it's not the case that there needs to be a hotspot mark on the bat 'about halfway up' according to the commentator. The ball is on the up, and the front on camera angle doesn't tell you where it might have clipped the bat. if that hotspot mark toward the bottom of the bat wasn't caused by a ball flicking it, then what else could it have been. boot and pad were no where near the bat. anyway, ponting was clutching at straws. KP's wicket doesn't stop them from being a long way behind with only a remote chance of saving the match.
GeeHubb Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Doesn't alter the fact that it just ain't cricket to argue with the umpire's decision! Wasn't there another strange one later on where Prior (? or was it Trott) went to 'walk' following a catch behind off a faint 'nick' but was called back by the umpire who wanted to check whether it was a no ball or not? Not too sure what happened on that one - obviously he wasn't given out because they're still there. I was listening whilst in my sleep so I'm a bit hazy on that one.
mattx Posted December 27, 2010 Author Posted December 27, 2010 Ponting is a great player but really shows his bad side with this sort of outburst.
