Richie1972 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Right, probably got most of the information in the title I've tried with various wake-on-lan programs (wol.exe, mc-wol.exe and a few others) and it works fine for PCs in the same VLAN, but not across VLANs. The HP 5412 is our core switch and is configured for routing and to forward broadcasts, plus I've tried udp port forwarding from the "sending" VLAN to the "receiving" VLANs broadcast address. Has anyone successfully managed to do this with these switches (especially the 5412) and, if so, can they post the relevent parts of their switch config files to show me what I'm doing wrong?
SpuffMonkey Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 We don't have your switches - but we find Wake-on-LAN [ MATCODE.com ] is successful over VLANs - as you can tell it the other VLANs broadcast address
Richie1972 Posted December 12, 2010 Author Posted December 12, 2010 Tried that one - with and without the broadcast address being specified. Still doesn't work. The issue is something to do with the HP5412 procurve switch (it's a layer 3 switch), but every bit of info i've found and tried regarding this switch doesn't seem to work
