Weare having problems with codecs.

We got flipview cams which recored in mp4 which we cant get to play or edit in windows movie maker

and we also got a canon camcorder which recored in mpeg and wont play on our pcs/laptops. (it will play with all the canon software installed but we dont want to install all that on to pupils pcs)

Is there a geneal codec pack that we can use to solve the problems and also be able to edit in movie maker to make a movie.

Thanks All

I would strongly suggest that you invest in some other non linear video editing software which will read this format natively without re-encoding it.

I spent days trying to get movie maker to export a finished file which was made up from clips converted from a flip cam.

In the end I gave up and used the software that comes on the flip cams.
