AdmitMac Macs Freezing / New AD-OD Intergration Setup

Recommended Posts

Dear All.

Firstly, We have a mixture of 10.5 and 10.6 clients that all use AdmitMac V5.0.2

For over a year we have been using this setup with no issues... recently(for over a month now) applications(Adobe CS5, Office 2008, Logic) Freeze up on us and the only way to correct the issue is by holding the power button... This is random throughout all the Macs, They can be ok for an hour or two even three sometimes for a day but then the freezing happens. It is random throughout the Macs and does not happen at the same time.

I am awaiting feedback from Thursby but wondered if anyone could shed some light as to why this might be happening.

AdmitMac V5.0.2 / We Use Network Home Folders

Ok So Failing AdmitMAc, We are thinking about having an AD-OD intergration in the hope that this may be a more reliable setup

I am asking if their is any EXPERT!!!(MUST) who has extensive knowledge in setting up an AD-OD Intergration

Mac OS X Server

Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Server

60 Mac Clients - Mixture of 10.5.8 and 10.6

We are willing to pay for your time at an agreed cost of setting this up for us if we proceed down this route.

Kind Regards for all your time, I know how busy we all are.

Have you looked at redirecting cache files? If you do not have have a fast network, the applications you mention will clog it up with cache traffic. By default the cache files will be stored in the network home folder (not sure if that is true with AdmitMac).

We have a full Gigabit Network(but does get some hardcore use) I will look into this.

also Thursby have just got back to me with a new development build of admitmac: V5.1.1 which resolves a kernel panic issue. (This I will install firstly to see)
