chazzy2501 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 The autoarchive isn't set to archive the inbox (or other folders by default) I'd made some lazy assumptions and am now paying for it. Basically mail boxes are filling up (3 years not bad!) I was experimenting with outlook to enable archiving for all folders and making a new archive file within the users personal folder. I noticed that my emails that were older than 6 months were backed up and that older emails within the archive were deleted. I've spotted the setting to stop the expired emails from being deteted but rerunning the autoarchive doesn't restore them. Anyhow the real problem is that the autoarchiving option doesn't remove (6 month and older) emails from the existing mail boxes!
KenD2 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I was curious too but I don't think there's a perfect solution for it. I used to delete emails once a month. since they're sorted by date/time, it's not that hard..
KenD2 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Maybe you can try something else, Eudora etc.
