We have one of these with a problem: the colour printing has gone peculiar. Any colour printing comes out all pale down the left-hand side. This doesn't happen if you print in black.

I have run the cleaning program but it hasn't helped

Has anyone any ideas?

Have you tried printing some text in individual colours? IE red blue and yellow to see if maybe one is causing the problem ...

I would also check for even toner distribution in the cartridges and check that there's no marks on the drum.

All colours except black do it - which is very odd!

No marks on the drum that I can see

Have shaken all cartridges and wiped around contacts etc

Try a calibration and like already mentioned get a maintenance kit.

I remember spending hours on the phone to HP about this with one of them i think in the end they said it was driver related. Is it ghosting the image aswell.

No ghosting. It is not on my network so I will have to get the admin staff to ring the LA who support the admin network. They are always trying to rope me in to fix their stuff as I am on the scene as it were - but obviously I have no admin logons and cant do a lot (which I dont think they really understand!)

ahh just looked back through my stuff it was ghosting not faint. Does sound like a drum or transfer tho as i tend to get that with the brothers we have here when the drum needs replacing
