Remove Forums moodle

Hi I want to be able to disable forums in moodle is this possible?

Go to Site Administration > Modules > Activities

 

You can get rid of it in there my pressing delete or pressing the Eye to hide it. I would hide it if you can incase you need it one day.

 

If you get rid of the forums it will get rid of the site news on the home page as well.

Do you have anything already in any of the forums? There should be a number next to it.

There is no eye or delete button for the forum - you could remove it from the server but that would cause no end of confusion in a course. You can stop forums being created in new courses by going to site admin>security>module security and you can stop news forums appearing by default in new courses by going to site admin>courses>course default settings and setting the news items to 0. Other than that I cannot say.
