reggiep Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Weird one this, I did set up the AD joining service a few weeks back and all worked on my test workstation. Now I have some samsung netbooks and I created an image that was not on the domain. I clicked the join domain box but I get an error hostnamechanger code 2 in my fog log. Can anyone help me with this one?
morganw Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 If you uncheck the join AD option for the host, then reimage to the point where the computer has renamed and is logged in, can you manually join the domain at this point? You could also try a different hostname incase it's too long or has illegal character.
bladedanny Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 (edited) Have you updated the hostnamechanger.dll on the image for your samsung netbooks? Also did you install the windows support tools (mainly netdom)? Edited October 26, 2010 by bladedanny
morganw Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 You don't need Windows support tools any more, the latest version of the Fog service was rewritten to work without it.
