enjay Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 Does anyone know if you can add other fields, i'd like to show the Reg Group, i tried some tags in various formats but it didn't really work. It is mail-merging the data from the database, so as long as you know the field name, I don't see why you couldn't add it. Can't say I've tried though.

I don't see why though - you can chuck whatever fields you want in a customlettertemplate.doc and run a report into it, why would they intentionally code the quickletter such that you can't?

I believe the arguement went something like, 'this a a quick letter, if you want more design a report mailmerge'
enjay Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 I believe the arguement went something like, 'this a a quick letter, if you want more design a report mailmerge' That's a stupid argument. It should go "if you want a simple letter which is the same for all users and all students, there is a quick letter; if you want more, design a report".

My memory of the last 4 years is vague to say the least.

creese Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 was it the booze or should we blame the guy in your sig? Probably the lack of booze. Either that of the lack of House like Drs in the NHS.

creese Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 shucks, you had lupus? or was it sarcoidosis..? :s 90% likely to have been sarcoids. But tested for the other, amongst a long list of things.
dhicks Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 How do I go about getting this updated file out to all the PCs? I placed quicklettertemplate.doc on its own share on the SIMS server, made editable by just those people who needed to edit it. Then I had an application listen out for changes to that file and copy it to wherever it was needed every time a change occured. -- David Hicks
