Communication Log

Hi

 

New to this forum.

 

Could anyone tell me if they know of anyone using the communication log in their schools.

 

I can't seem to find any written instructions on this for me to send to schools.

If you mean in SIMS. Not really.

I tested it once, but we don't really have much use for it. And it seemed a bit inflexible.

If you go to the comms section in SIMS and hit help there's a little bit of info there for how to add/edit etc.

Other than that, the best place would be the documentation link on the home page, though you'll most likely need to go to SupportNet for a full list of manuals.

The Permissions to use it were not correct when it was released. As the result of me (and others!) registering a Case, this should be sorted in the Autumn Release.

I had noticed that the permissions were set that you couldn't add a new communication log as a teacher.

Is this what is going to be rectified in the Autumn Update???

All the CL Permissions need to be addressed. They do not even appear in the Permissions spreadsheet!

If you are not a member of SupportNet then I suggest you register there. That is where the vast majority of experienced SIMS users are to give advice re. use of SIMS. (When it is working correctly!)

I am a member but didn't see anything on the communication log.

Perhaps i hadn't looked in the correct place.
