Right, i THINK i may have found the root of my backup problems. Finally playing with Backup Exec (;)) and its failing on a certain file. It's something that was on the old server and i dont really need it anymore but when i try to delete it it tells me that a program is using it, which i doubt very much!!

I've tried a few things to be rid of it but i cant shift it, any advice?

What is the file and where? (It might be being used)

Or give a quick google for "file unlock" to free up the file (best say what file it is first incase it's important)

The other thing you could do is 'exclude' this file from the back ups.

Nothing should be using it, its in an old sysvol folder (which has been renamed and lives on D: in a folder called old data lol), i definately havent linked it to anything.

I was wondering if the was an exclude option but havent had long to play with it.

That software I linked to is quite good. Any files it errors on when you try to delete will prompt the software to load. You'll be met by a screen displaying exactly which processes are using the said file. If you 'unlock' the file it'll stop the process, and allow you to delete the file.

Experience locked files at times when package building so this comes in very handy.
