Windows 7 start menu redirection not working

Hi all!

I`m trying to set start menu redirection for win 7. I have XP and 7 machines in my network. My main DC is 2008, sec dc is 2008 R2. I have two OU in AD one for staff and one for students. Redirection for both onXP works fine. On Win 7 students get start menu redirected but staff doesn`t. Are there any security policies that can prevent it from redirecting for staff??

 

I do it standard way:

User configuration-policies-windows settings-folder redirection-start menu

 

and set it:

basic-redirect everyone`s folder to same location

\\xxx\Startmenu\StaffStart

and thick following settings:

apply erdirection policy to windows 2000, server, xp, and windows server 2003 operating systems

 

and

 

leave the folder in the new location when policy is removed.

 

Any ideas how to fix it?? Did anyone have the same problem as I do??

Do Staff have their own profile, but students a mandatory one? It might be that the staff have a Start menu already saved in their profile, and so Windows uses that Start menu rather than the redirect. Just a guess!
