I am trying to run some commands to help cleanup our problems with snapshots on our ESXI 4.0 host but the walkthrough on the internet states to use VMware-CMD - but i can't find this anywhere. Also i couldn't find anything about needing to install it on google.

Has it been renamed since earlier versions? as i can find vim-cmd? obviously i dont want to run the commands incase it breaks it!

ESXi is not designed to be login on directly and managed (No service console).

You will need to use either

  • VMware vSphere Management Assistant (vMA)
  • VMware vSphere CLI (vCLI)
