Does anyone know what permissions are required to run this software as I can only get domain admins to run it atm, i've tried giving my testuser full access to the whole of /prog files/ and /system32/ which are the only places that it is installed to, and on the server where the files are kept, but it doesn't work.

I get the error message

"Unable to locate the systems databases.

Please check the line PATH= in the file LOCAL.INI points to the applications directory"

(which it does, as it works as admin)

Does anyone have any idea what i need to change?

So it turns out that it dislikes one of my servers.

copied the eclipse data over to another server and it works fine, how peculiar

So now i'm getting this error when logged in as a kid, but as admin it is fine. Anyone have any idea what it could be? (see attachment)

Hey,

We are using SearchStar... If i remember correctly, if it is a new install or you've upgraded the Primary PC, SearchSTar will need to update. To do this, the user must be an admin.

Try running it on an admin account first...

if that doesn't help, MLS Support are superb (if you have a helpdesk sub)

Geoff: Great idea, I'm trying FileMon atm, bit slow to go through as i can't run it as a student.

Stese: Both running latest version, works fine as an admin, and MLS support didn't know what it could be.

Hi We have this also, I think the software locally was left as whatever permissions, but for the data share all need read / write access. that worked here (but means people can write to that share)

A data$ (dollar share) will help with this. since it will hide it from being browsed (if your students can even get that far)

Sorted it now, it was attempting to lock the mdb file and that was failing as they didnt have full access to that mdb (Users had the perms to full access, but Students specifically didn't, and not all users are in the Domain Users Group for some reason)

All hail filemon
