Windows 7 Recycle Bin Redirection

I've been trying out windows 7. Having problems with the recycle bin. Previously in XP the recycle bin followed the redirected my documents folder. In windows 7 (documents redirected to user area) if I delete something the recycle bin icon shows that their is something in but when I open the recycle bin it is empty. When I delete the item from my documents it says it is moving it to the recycle bin.

any ideas?
