A Linux Kernel Exploit has been released that directly impacts all 64-bit kernels.

 

Not quite (my emphasis). It affects x64 kernels that have been built with 32-bit emulation compatibility. Home-brew kernels and some distribution stock kernels may not have this capability and so aren't affected, though you are advised to refresh the sources used for them to avoid inadvertent recompilation with the emulation enabled.
