SimpleSi Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 One of my NC10s was showing blank display when screen at certain angles (light but no desktop) and since it was out of warranty I had a go myself There are 4 screws (on in each corner underneath the little rubbers and then the surround can be prised off (but it acts like you'll break it if you do but it does unclip I don't know what was wrong with it as whatever was a bit loose started behaving itself again once I'd prodded around Anyway - it was quite easy to do and worth a go if anyone gets similar probs. Anjunabeat Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 We've been having a lot of issues with our NC10s and the problem which you are describing actually sounds an awful lot like the LCD screen cable. They wear down with the constant opening and closing of the lid. If it is that it will need to be replaced. (These can be bought them directly from Digicare who handle all of Samsung's out-of-warranty repairs). I don't know if you're still having the issue but just in case you are I hope that this helps. ;o) 1
SimpleSi Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 Very timely - the laptop was given back to me yesterday with the same fault again Sion
Anjunabeat Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Sorry to hear that I've just posted a new thread highlighting our ongoing woes with these netbooks, or rather the LCD cables. I'm trying to ascertain just how deep the 'rabbit hole' goes with this particular issue. Anyway, I hope that you manage to get yours fixed soon. If you do end up having to do it yourself Digicare will charge you approx £25 for the cable. Good luck mate
