Anybody had any experience of Cisco IOS firewalls? I will have to configure one shortly and have been told two very different stories. One is that they are GUI based devices (using SDM) and have wizzards to set them up. The other is that they require in depth knowledge of Cisco's programing language even with the GUI.

I can use linux command line and have once set up a cisco router. I have set up a checkpoint firewall too. Just not sure if I'm ready for Cisco!

Hi,

Cisco has quite extensive documentation so if you search oin Google you should find the answer to your question.

However, if you don't feel comfortable with reading docs then training might be the answer. There are some quite cheap, excellent training centres out there like the Network Academy in Leeds (I've been there, excellent tutors and really affordable!)
