edie209 Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I am in the process of rolling out a thin client solution in part of the school and I have come up against a problem. I use answer files to set the printer and the proxy based on the room that the machine is in, so a machine in room R10 would have a name like R10-01 which I think is pretty standard. thin clients get a name like R10-Term01. The answer file would be looking at R10-* to include all machines in the room. Now this works great for fat clients but my thin clients won't work like this. I have set their host name by right clicking on the desktop and going into configure and setting the hostname. I am running citrix and the clients are LT210's. Maybe I have missed something really basic but this is my first time with thin clients.
Geoff Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 See this thread: http://www.edugeek.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=3731 While it discusses session names, see Cybernerds post at the bottom about the %CLIENTNAME% variable.
