[ms office - 2010] Outlook 2010 Profile error

I've set up office 2010 along with the autoconfigure group policies and have just started to get the following error when new users try to open outlook for the first time.

 

 

 

 

Has anyone else seen this? Some articles arround the net suggest its because you are running a 2003 exchange server... ours is 2007 and the autodiscover policies have perviously worked.

Quick thing, do you have gateway ip set for your clients?

Its probably not that though.

I have already seen this one - only thing is we are running a 2007 back end.

 

I cant seem to figure out where the problem is starting... Did you say your currently having this issue?

Ah right. We are running exchange 2003. Yes it is exactly the same issue. When I create a new account I get the error above when outlook is opened for the first time and autoconfigure is used. If we use office 2007 first then go back to a machine with 2010 on it works fine but I'm guessing if a users roaming profile is deleted then recreated it will cause the issue again.

Hmmmm strange stuff..

 

I've just tried it on a outlook 2007 /win7 machine and it complained that it couldnt find the server when i tried to autoconfig.

 

I've just rebooted the exchange farm to see if it makes any difference.

 

Will post back the results.

Hi Craigg

 

Following the instructions in the microsoft article worked for me.

 

To get the registry settings to apply for a student I had to create a script that ran at logon applying the registry changes.
