IE8 Keeps Restoring tabs after windows update

Good Morning,

 

I was using windows update on a new laptop and carried on until there was no updates left. But now when I open IE8 to a page even as basic as google the tab just keeps restoring saying that theres an error with the browser?

 

But if i reinstall IE8 without any updates it works fine. Anyone any ideas?

 

Theres no group policy in place or anything as I havnt even joined the laptop to the domain yet.

 

Even if I run IE8 without add ons the same things happens
