ZeroHour Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) We have schools agreement which comes with Technet Plus. Under technet plus we are entitled, I believe, to 2 free support calls. I have just tried to figure out how to claim them and I am getting the run around. They say we need an access id but I cant find it listed anywhere on mvls or technet. Has anyone claimed their free calls under schools agreement and what steps were involved? We desperately need to call MS about a cluster problem. Cheers Edited August 5, 2010 by ZeroHour
teejay Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 You need your Technet Subscription Number. Log into Technet, go to My Account and it's it's the subscription number there that you need. 1
ZeroHour Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 Beginning TSA? Do I call 0844 800 2400 or technet?
ZeroHour Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 Yep, that's the one. I edited my post, do I call and give that number as every time I have called the 0844 number they want a different number.
teejay Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 You need to go through the process to set up a support contract over the phone first, you'll then get a support contract number which is what they'll be after.

teejay Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Just did it through the UK support number, 0844 800 2400. It was about 18 months ago though, so knowing MS they've changed the process! If you're still having difficulty after that, try the online concierge chat, I've found them to be very good when I'm getting muppetry off the call centre. 1
teejay Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 You could also try the Technet number, 0800 281 221. 1
ZeroHour Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 If you login to MVLS site and then goto Software Assurance->24/7 Problem... do you see any number or does it say no data? Calling MS (first number) again to see what to do.
teejay Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 No data on mine. I set up the support agreement on a previous school agreement though, so I probably would need to do it again.
Popular Post ZeroHour Posted August 5, 2010 Author Popular Post Posted August 5, 2010 Thanks again teejay, we have finally got it sorted. For those who have Technet Plus, to activate and setup your access ID you must browse to Help and Support and follow the steps listed there to either email the form (word doc) or fax it along with your technet plus subscriber id (TSA....) They will email you back with your access id which expires at the end of your agreement (aka you must renew this every year) You then call 0844 800 2400 and they will arrange a call back. 5

Ah, didn't know about the must renew every year bit, which could explain why when I login I no longer see any calls available. I was under the impression it was because I had used my two up a few years back and we had no more, good to know we (hopefully) have two every year!
Dos_Box Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 The free TechNet subscription support calls really are career savers and worth every penny of the annual subscription alone
