Adding New Yaer 7 Pupils

Hi All,

 

I am new to SIMS so my questions/doubts may sound silly.

 

New pupil information is being added from Focus | Admission | Application

It does not show the User Defined Filed Column

 

But if you click Focus | Student | Student Details, you can see User Defined Field Column for old students.

 

Both of them are showing 13 panels,. but old students have user Defined Field and the newly added students have Application Status History Column/panel .

When you add a User Defined Field (UDF) you can choose the data area where you would like the UDF to appear. So, this UDF has been added to the Student Details data area and subsequently shows there and not in the Applicant data area.

 

I'm not sure off the top of my head as I'm at home now if you can create UDF's in the Applicant area, I'm fairly sure you can, however I'm not 100% sure if that data would carry across when you admit the student(s).

I'm pretty sure you can put UDFs in the applicant area too (i'm sure we use them). In fact can't you have the same UDF showing in multiple areas? If so, the information should pull through as the student record doesn't change when they get admitted, i think just some flags are altered.

You can create UDF's in the Applicant, Application and Student area's and Vik is correct it does pull through.

 

(And I'm sure we do it and I'm sure the above statement is correct but the way my luck is running at the minute I wouldn't be supprised if someone pointed out that whole sentense is wrong!)
