HallX Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Hi all I'm playing around with a mac 10.6 server to understand a litte about them. I'm having an issue with Server Admin not displaying anything. I've found an apple support discussion with similar problems giving the solution: "I finally talk to a support guy at Apple. First thought it was a license problem, but not. Basically I had to stop "Server Admin", remove the file Preferences/comp.apple.ServerAdmin.plist then restart "Server Admin". I got back the view of my server the way it is supposed to work. It looks like the file was probably corrupted somehow." Unfortunately, I cant find the comp.apple.ServerAdmin.plist file, help!! Cheers Paul
SC-UK Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Looks like it's just a case of a simple typo on the discussion board - try searching for, and deleting com.apple.ServerAdmin.plist instead
HallX Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 Hi SC-UK I've tried that, but cant find any of the com.apple files. Do I need to enable hidden files or anything like that. (please remember I'm a relative noobie to Mac). BTW, I'm searching in "finder", "this mac", is this correct? Cheers

SC-UK Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Also, when you've found and deleted the file, make sure you empty the trash before relaunching Server Admin. OSX has a useful, but often annoying, habit of knowing where files are that have been moved and deleted, and still trying to use them until they are properly gone.

Type this into Terminal: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE killall Finder To turn system file finder searching back off again the command is simply: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE killall Finder Tom
