creese Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Hope your having fun on holiday - your off for 3 weeks?? THREE WEEKS!!??? No, I took 3 in February, summer in S Africa, mostly working. A week of decorating, back for a week Then my 2nd doing...... who knows what.
Sarconia Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Haha, I chill out for a week or so and come back and there's been a whole topic of hmm... "discussion". It's a difficult one really, some schools are really on the ball and know exactly what they are doing when it comes to virtually everything but others are just so laid back and clueless they may as well be asleep on the floor, it's swings and roundabouts if you ask me. In regard to training manuals and videos... I have created a fair few and I've sent them out all of the time but I'm fairly sure most people probably don't use them! A lot of people I find would rather just talk to someone and have them hold their hand to do whatever task it is that they have been assigned.
Sivadam Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) To which department I wonder... Sarconia, Being as you are back I thought I would respond to this quote from Page 1 of the thread to which I did not respond at the time. I was referring to directing the criticisms to a whole remit of Capita Staff including Product Managers, UAT Staff, Capita Support Staff, etc etc and, on the odd occasion, to Phil himself. I often get requests for my opinion on a number of issues and they get back exactly that - the good, together with the not so good, opinions that I have on all aspects of SIMS Software. We produce simple, step by step directions. Someone always need us to read these to them. We send important emails with 'Do not delete, make sure they reach the person.......' in bold and in red. They delete them and do not pass them on. It's a lose lose situation, but it's a job that I never expected to be easy.
