Diagonal stripes on printout

One of our Epson C1100's is printing blank diagonal lines. I did 4 pages of text for each colour (CKYM) and it only affects the black. I recently put a new photocondutor in, i checked the drum and the belt but couldnt see any defects?

 

The black toner is half full, should i try swapping this over? Is there anything else to try?

could also take some spray duster and a cloth to the transfer rollers - could be there's black toner in lines on one of them

Try taking the black toner out and then inspect the cartridge. Try pushing the toner door open and look at the roller inside. If you can't see anything obvious try moving the roller around by using the knobs on the outside of the cartridge. Sometimes I've found a strange bit of debris or something defective about the cartridge.

It sounds like the toner! I would try another one...obviously let me know if it is a faulty one so I can sort it for you!!

WHAT IS IT!!! Fuser changed, it's a new Photoconductor, ive checked rollers and transfer belt, i swapped toner (hold fire Vicki), checked that too. I havent had chance to clean the inside yet as Domino suggested. Any ideas?

The consistent repetition of the pattern would suggest it's making the mark whilst going around a roller of some sort. If possible try stopping the printer (open a door) whilst it has a page running through it and see if you can catch it just before it goes through the fuser at the end. Open the printer up and study the jammed bit of paper to see what has happened so far in the process. It may help you narrow down the problem. I would say it looks like some sticky debris or label has got onto the fuser, but you say you've swap tested the fuser, so I'm confused.

I'm not sure about the Epson printers - although I can't think of why they wouldn't have this option - can you generate a cleaning page and run that through?
