Acer X1301 Downgrade

I went down this road before... buying a very very cheap Acer for a classroom thats not going to use it but again... I am up against Acer and XP drivers.

 

The internet used to be a fun place to look for drivers, looking at FTP sites etc... but now it just seems to be crappy sites wanting your cash.. so annoying.

 

Anyone got any drivers for a X1301.. I have the audio (w7 driver worked) but the lan isn't around... and the graphics

Have you tried searching for the starting bits of the PnP IDs on the Windows Update catalogue site? They backfilled a whole bunch of drivers into Windows Update even for the old OSs and so they could very well be there. If you can get the lan driver try the update driver scan which will also look through this large database and attempt to grab it. If you have a USB NIC you could use that just to connect initially and attempt to grab the drivers.

 

This is the way I get a lot of troublesome drivers now.
