mirojr Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Hello, Am having problem with mixed environment, a DC running 2003 std and one running 2008 r2 The error seemed to occur when i was trying to run ad authentication from a linux box using kerberos. I managed to solve problem once, or so i thought by resetting pasward with netdom. The a day later i ran authentication on linux(not knowing that was the cause) and all the UNC shares stopped working. DNS seems to be mucked up. how can i diagnose and fix my network please i am up the creek here thanks
djm968 Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 The linux box is probably the problem. It may have been acting as a DNS and/or DHCP server. Check the event logs Windows servers specifically the domain contoller.
mirojr Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 The linux box has never had DNS running as a service, neither has it had dhcp.
_Adam_ Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Kerberos tends to fail if machines times are at an offset of more than 5 minutes, are you running your servers from a common NTP server to ensure this is not the cause? Just a suggestion.
