CHR1S Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I'm having trouble with Win 7 x64 and my printers. Every time I try to install the network printers on my new install it goes off to windows update for 20 minutes to look for the 64bit drivers and then fails. Is there anyway to install the drivers for a new printer without it going off on one? Or make x64 use 32bit drivers? Thanks
CHR1S Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 What is it with these stupid issues - You have to actually switch the driver for the printer to the x64 on the server and click apply whilst the printer installs then swap it back to the x32 afterwards!
Rydra Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Sorry for the necro, but I'm having this trouble too, and having it for 32 and 64 bit drivers; it spends an age looking on the internet for the drivers, then doens't find them and refuses to install them... This is especially a problem when manufacturers don't offer drivers for them on the website, stating "Windows 7 automatically gets it for you." Anyone got any ideas for this?
