Are people really going to move Exchange 2007 from 2003/2008 to 2008R2? Suppose it's takes all sorts to make a world but I'm not sure I couldn't be bothered to do that as opposed to going to Exchange 2010 (or maybe it's successor) on 2008R2 some rainy day.

Dunno. There's been a few "we're upgrading to 2008R2 across the board......well, except for Exchange, which isn't supported yet, Grr" type posts on here and other forums.

 

Ours is on 2008 and I can't really see a reason to shift it to R2. If you were running virtual, had a lot of exchange servers on 2003 and everthing else was R2 and wanted to use memory / disk dedupe it may be worth it. But having said that, the primary ram use is holding the data store, which wouldn't dedupe well.
