School Subject Icons

This isn't a request to have some icons created unless SYSMAN_MK is looking for another challenge!

 

I just wanted to know if anyone could recommend a decent site for icons I'm looking for icons to help identify different school subjects.

 

All the ones I have found so far are pretty rubbish!

I actually used a lot of the icons here: Crystal Project and found them to be of some good use in making subject icons.

 

Of course there were some gaps, with which I found stock images from sxc.hu and scaled them down appropriately.

The problem as well is when you find a nice set is it doesn’t have the icons you want. I did put some together a while ago. Nothing special though, just flat icons. Will dig out what I have and might look into developing it more.

I got sick of picking icons from differnet sites as it pretty much killed off the uniformed look I was attempting to achieve.

Unfortunately, school subjects aren't at the heart of most peoples minds when they are making icon packs, But generally you can find something you need in the following two sets:

* Crystal Clear pack - Category:Crystal Clear icons - Wikimedia Commons

* Tango Icon pack - Category:Tango project - Wikimedia Commons

 

And with the licenses those are under, You can also modified them, for example i need a person with a lock symbol to dentoe something, although they had a person and a lock and with some image editing magic i had what i needed.

I was also looking for a set of icons representing school subjects.

Your icons came in extremely handy, along with another set i found with the same sort of format while I was searching. I have attached the other set, I do not have the name of the author to credit him/her, but if anyone recognises them and wants credit, or them removing, please let me know.

I also edited some of the icons and created some of my own in the same format, to suit our school, which i would like to share with the community. Feel free to modify these images in any way for your own use.

Thanks for the head's up! Shame it came after I'd made my logos...

Never mind, a couple of those new ones may come in handy for future use.

Hi all, I discovered this thread through a Google Image search for school symbols/icons. Fell in love with the "Watch.Love.Share" image and saw that the original poster didn't know who to credit. I found the designer and wanted to share... since I'm a new user here, I can't post the actual link.
