Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School is a popular specialist technology school serving the town of Ashbourne and surrounding rural area. It has approximately 1400 pupils on roll, aged 11 to 18.

 

The Governing Body seeks to appoint, from September 2010, a suitably qualified and experienced ICT Technician to enhance a team which provides an effective ICT support service to a school committed to the development of ICT in learning and teaching and in administration.

 

The successful candidate will:

Possess a relevant ICT qualification;

Have a technical understanding of the PC environment;

Have a working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications software;

Be familiar with school management information systems;

Possess excellent communication and listening skills; and

Work well under pressure; be organised, practical and resourceful.

 

£15,725 - £19,126 per annum

No holidays then

Yes, bit of an issue. The Derbyshire standard holidays do apply though, to be taken in non term time.

I always had an issue with holidays taken in non term time.

 

Yes support needs to be there for the school but at the same time non term time tends to be the only time when some jobs can be done. If there is more than one person providing support then term time holidays should be given.

I'll tell you what, just by judging from the learning platform meetings they have a supportive SMT, and not afraid to let kids run away with things and train teachers!

 

Would apply, but a bit too far for me!
