**WARNING** Switching to GMAIL from GoogleMail Will Break Marketplace downloads

Grrrr argggggggggg. Just got my head around this. If you take up the offer to change from googlemail to gmail your marketplace downloads will stop working. You will be able to get your email and browse the marketplace but it will get stuck on starting downloads.

This is instantly fixed by swopping back to googlemail. Not very clever Google!

I cannot see what the benefit is of switching.

 

I have an @googlemail.com email account and anything sent to me @gmail.com has been getting through without incident for the last 2 years. As far as I can see, this will not change. I have used @gmail.com to register on some websites and @googlemail.com on others - 2 email addresses for the price of one!
