Number6 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I had to reformat my HD and I'm currently reinstalling stuff. Just downloaded Tweedeck (v34.1) and fired it up. It immediately launches into the "you need to set up an account" dialogue screen which then asks the usual Twitter credentials questions. The problem is that it won't connect because [presumably] I need to enter to proxy settings. BUT, the settings buttons are greyed out, they can't be accessed until I set up a Twitter account. But I can't set up a Twitter acount until I enter the proxy settings so that Tweetdeck can connect in the first place There's no way to bypass this - no close button or anything on the acount setup dialogue  Anyone got a workaround for this?
JJonas Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Just installed and did not need to do anything with proxy settings it just worked
Number6 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 Mine just hangs on the "validating" screen but no other error messages and I can't get to the settings screen. I've logged a ticket with Tweetdeck Support.
JJonas Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I have my proxy setting set up in IE and Firefox could it be reading one of those?
Number6 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 Our proxy settings are pushed out via GP, IE and Firefox read them OK but not Tweetdeck.
Number6 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 All things have a plus side. I've just set up a hootsuite account to handle my Twitter feeds. First impressions are quite good I must say: https://hootsuite.com/signup
